Beach Session - What to Wear
Mommy and Me Beach Sessions will be here before you know it! And we want you looking and feeling your best. In my previous post ( How you can have control ) I walked you through some high level suggestions on what to wear for a photo session. In this post I will try to give you specific suggestions on Colors, Textures, and Brands that I recommend.
I want you to try to picture your time with me. Blue water, khaki colored sand, wind blowing, sea salt scents, joy, fun, and laughter. When I think of beach sessions I think of light and airy. I think of sea glass and pink skies. I think of pale color pallets and lots of flowy textures.
My goal is to give you and your children some time to spend together, play, and laugh with each other. You just need to show up and I will take care of the rest.
Textures & Fabrics
Go for light weight fabrics
Cotton
Linen
Rayon
Silk
Tulle - hear me out on this one. It might be weird in person but my goodness does it photograph well AND bonus, it's not too heavy for summer nights!
Look for layers - they photograph REALLY well.

I personally don't care for matchy matchy. Everyone in Jeans/Khakis and a white t-shirt is kind of dated at this point
You want coordinating colors, not the exact same colors.

Tips
Think about the overall fit for your outfits.
Proper fit - always always always find clothes that fit. Too big is never flattering and too small does not photograph well.
For your Children- you don't want to buy them something thinking " oh great, I'll go a size larger so they can wear it for 2 more summers" please buy them something that fits specifically for this photo session. You won't regret it.
For you - buy something you will be comfortable in and feel amazing in. After all, this is about YOU.
Footwear - I'd suggest barefoot ... because who likes to walk on the beach in shoes anyway
Accessories - a really big sun hat can make for fun flirty photos
Iron - ensure your clothes are ironed or steamed so there are no wrinkles
